At Kadima we understand that you would like to hand in your competency application as soon as possible. So we try to assist our students within the same week that they have done the training with their certificates. All accredited training certificates needs to marked and read into the PFTC system for your statement of results.

For your SAPS competency it can be a minimum of 6 weeks that you will have to wait and a additional 6 weeks for your firearms license. The best will be to follow up with your DFO. Section 13 License to possess a firearm for self-defence is valid for 5 years. Section 15 License to possess a firearms for occasional hunting or sport shooting is valid of 10 years. Section 16 License to possess a firearm for dedicated hunting or dedicated sport shooting is valid for 10 years.

We suggest that all students where closed shoes and long pants. Eyes and ear protection will be provided if you do not have your own. We also sell eyes and ear protection at an extra cost please contact a Kadima member for more information. A hat and sunblock is recommended during warm weather. If you have sunglasses or prescription glasses, bring them. If you have ear protection, bring it. If not, we will provide eye and ear protection at no additional charge. You should bring a lunch. The lunch break is one hour, and may be eliminated if your class is small and finishes sooner than a large class would.

To pass the course you must pass the open book exam (formative), closed book exam (summative) and the practical shooting evaluation (summative). If you do not pass one of the evaluations the assessor will notify you and discuss the outcome with possible solutions. If you only need to rewrite an exam, you will receive a rewrite on another opportunity without any additional cost. If you again do not pass the summative exam (written closed book exam) then you unfortunately will have to re-do the training again.

You can hire one of Kadima Training and Tactical Firearms. You are also welcome to use someone you know firearms and ammunition. Please let us know if you want to use someone else's firearms so we can make arrangements.

No you do not have to do Basic Handgun training first before you do can training for any of the other types of firearms. You can choose between which ever firearms and do only that specific one or you can choose to do more than one firearms unit standard.
